Description
The Massage Therapist performs massage and body treatment services, in addition to assisting in other areas of the spa, including locker, relaxation areas, and the reception areas.
Duties and Responsibilities - include the following but other duties may be assigned.
Perform services at the Spa. Treatment durations include: 25 minutes, 50 minutes, 80, 110 minutes.
Perform all massage services according to protocol.
Qualified for 80% of massage and body treatment services offered.
Properly educate guests regarding all treatments.
Lead by example and be an effective role model for members and staff.
Exhibit proper use of product and abide by all product control guidelines and ensure that other do as well.
Administer and maintain proper schedules and records in computer scheduling system.
Read and adhere to schedule postings regarding shifts, room assignments, and the computer scheduling system.
Maintain a co-operative team attitude with co-workers.
Be aware of appearance, promptness with appointments, quality of work and attitudes with members and guests.
Maintain a well-stocked and clean treatment environment.
Maintain a safe work environment by filling out maintenance request forms and suggesting improvements of procedures, etc.
Maintain and ensure adherence to service standards.
Be informed about all policy, procedures, and communication.
All Staff General Duties
Come to work in appropriate uniform, with proper grooming adhering to all appearance/grooming standards.
Come to work as scheduled and arrive at your work area at time listed on schedule.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Attend all meetings as scheduled.
Maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude toward your fellow staff members and guests.
Report unsafe conditions to management and fill out a maintenance request for equipment in need of repair.
Do not solicit gratuities and adhere to the gratuity/tipping policy.
Maintain and adhere to service standards.
Be informed about all policy, procedures, and communication as outlined in the employee handbook.
Respect guest confidentiality.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience
California License for performing massage therapy.
A minimum of 500 hours of training in massage and/or have current National Certification.
Qualified for 80% of the services offered.
A minimum of three to four years' experience in massage therapy.
Knowledgeable, and experience preferable in luxury market and the wellness industry.
Skills and Qualifications
Great guest service skills.
Willing to learn specific services offered at the Spa, when training is provided by the Spa.
Personable and interested in health and wellness field.
Must possess good communication skills (both written and verbal) with members and staff. Ensure that the members and guests feel comfortable during treatment.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide basic problems and instructions presented for product usage.
Must be proficient in computer scheduling system.
Must be able to effectively contribute to team goals and processes.
Must be able to enforce Club policy and procedure.
Respect member and guest confidentiality.
Use telephone, computer and other procedures as dictated by Spa, and always return all messages in a timely manner.
Maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude toward your fellow staff members, members, and guests.
Take ownership of all unsafe conditions by correcting immediate danger, and filling out a maintenance request for equipment in need of repair.
Report accidents immediately to Loss Prevention.
Do not solicit gratuities or comment on amount of gratuities given. Santaluz is a non-tipping Club.
Strive to ensure that each member and guest has a positive spa experience.

Regularly required to stand and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Withstand a moderate noise level.
